Mediterraneo: Pictures between lands and sea
Here are the winners of the I Mediterraneo Prize in Venice 2015
“Mediterraneo: pictures between lands and sea” and Consorzio Conclave awarded the first Mediterraneo Prize.
Five young photographers selected by Patrizia Varone, curator and journalist, have been given the opportunity to show their works in Venice by Consorzio Concave, partner of the event “Mediterraneo: pictures between lands and sea”, inside the halls of five Hotels of the group.
A traveling exhibition for the first edition of the Mediterraneo Prize, inaugurated in the presence of the artists during the Art Night, at the Hotel Giorgione.
The Swedish photographer Louloud’Aki has been awarded for her photographic project “Make a wish”, which explores the dreams of the young people under the age of 25, living in the Mediterranean countries, and the photographer Elena Franco for her photographic research “Hospitalia” between Italy and France which documents the historical, human and architectural evolution of the medieval hospital facilities. Loulou d’ Aki showed her works at Hotel Casa Verando, while Elena Franco at Hotel Canaletto.In addition, at Hotel Casa Verando, the photographer Lorenzo Pesce with his work “Gleisdreieck Park Life Berlin”, at Hotel all’Angelo the photographer Mario Ferrara with his “Il confine come transizione”(“The border as transition”, ndt), and at Hotel Giorgione the photographer Marta Rovatti with her work “Misplaced”.
The five authors have been selected in accordance to with the criteria to be Italian photographers under the age of 45 who work or have worked abroad, or foreign photographers under the age of 45 who work or have worked on the Mediterranean area. This is then a prize to support the young generations of photographers.
The Consorzio Concave stems in 2011 from the commitment of a team of young Venetian hospitality entrepreneurs whose aim is to combine strenght and ideas in order to continue to run the luster of the ancient Venetian hospitality tradition, ensuring the members of consortium the advantage to be part of a group and providing quality services, up with the times but under the sustainable and social tourism, essential criteria for those who love Venice.
The Consorzio Concave is nowadays a successful reality in the city context and a reference point for the Venetian hotellerie.
