Art seen as human expression of creativity, as instrument of dialogue among people and especially as a moment of participation among civilisations and religions. This is the message of the  pavilion of San Marino Republic, by the curator Vincenzo Sanfo,  through Friendship Project-China, during the 56^thedition of Biennale. This project has managed to join the artist of San Marino Republic with the Chinese ones. It underlines the union of one of the smallest republic in the world (San Marino) and one of the biggest one (the Chinese Republic). The two republics have instaured relations of partnership for years, especially for this event who desire to stress the need of collaboration and dialogue among people through communication, between big and small countries and their culture. In an international event like the Biennale of Venice. the pavilon of San Marino presents three exhibitions of different artists in three prestigious locations in Venice.

The exhibition of Liu Rou Wang in the Telecom Italia Future Center ( near Rialto Bridge) rappresents about hundred wolfs with their bleeding jaws that run towards a copy of Michelangelo’s “Pietà”. A loud shout of protest expressed by the artist against the religion persecutions and the distruction of art. In the “Ateneo Veneto”- near Fenice Theatre-  there is the exhibition of two female artists. The first is Zhang Hong Mei, that for her works she uses ancient fabric of  old dynasties, repainted and applicated in old family retracts. The second is Eleonora Mazza, an artist of San Marino, that shocked the public for her textural and colourful paintings. A diary of life and family.

For the third exposition, five artists  changed the rooms of Rota Ivanich Palace in Venice in a suprising and suggestive place where the contemporary art rules with its colours, its immagination and its vivacity.
